Becoming a Committer

Anyone can contribute to Apache Texera (Incubating), and we welcome new contributors. Committer status recognizes sustained, high-quality contributions to the project. New committers are nominated and elected by the PPMC based on:

  • Sustained contributions. A track record of meaningful contributions to the project (code, documentation, reviews, releases, or community support) over a period of time, rather than a single burst of activity.
  • Quality. Contributions that are well-designed, well-tested, and reviewed, along with a demonstrated ability to give constructive, careful reviews of other people’s work.
  • Community involvement. Active, respectful participation on the mailing lists and in issues and pull requests, and a willingness to help and mentor other contributors.
  • The Apache Way. An understanding of how the Apache Software Foundation operates: community over code, lazy consensus, and open, asynchronous decision-making on the public mailing lists.

If you would like to get involved, see the Community page and the project’s contributing guide.

Apache Texera (Incubating) gratefully thanks its Apache Incubator mentors for their guidance: Cezar Cristian Andrei, PJ Fanning, Gordon King, and Ian Maxon.
